One of the eye-catching attractions in the vicinity of B&B Number 5 is the see-through church by the Belgian architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh (Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh). The artwork called “Reading between the Lines” is located in the agricultural area of Borgloon and is 10 meters high. It is composed of 100 layers of steel plate stacked on top of each other in the shape of a church.
The church is built in such a way that the beautiful landscape is always visible through the church, whether you look from the left, the right, the front or behind.
You will find the church on the walking path between the Sint-Truidersteenweg and the Roman Cobblestone in Borgloon. Please note: the church is not accessible by car, only by bike or on foot.
See Borgloon council website for more information.
