Things to do - the hermitage in Bolderberg

De Kluis hermitage is a few minutes’ drive or 25 minutes walk from B&B Number5.

At the top of the Bolderberg is the hermitage, a house with a chapel inhabited by a hermit couple.

De Kluis was built in 1673 by Lambert Hoelen and has already withstood various damages and periods of neglect. In 1801 the vault was renovated once more and in 2005 the vault was restored by the municipality and is also inhabited again.

The chapel is freely accessible and is often visited by people who are looking for peace and quiet, who also take the opportunity to light a candle.

Not to forget: the beautiful view at the top!
